How to Password Protect PDFs

Step 1: Access the Tool
Go to Password Protect PDF (opens in a new tab)

Step 2: Upload PDF File

  • Drag and drop your PDF file
  • OR click to browse your device
  • Maximum file size: 50MB

Step 3: Set Password

  • Enter your desired password
  • Confirm password by typing again
  • Minimum 4 characters recommended

Step 4: Process

  • Uses RC4 128-bit encryption

Step 5: Download

  • Filename: protected-[original].pdf
  • Original file remains unchanged

Important Notes

Password Security:

  • Use strong passwords (8+ characters)
  • Include uppercase, lowercase, numbers
  • Avoid common words or patterns
  • Don't forget your password - it cannot be recovered

Troubleshooting
